Goddard College is located in Central Vermont in the town of Plainfield, approximately ten miles east of Montpelier, the state's capital and fifty miles southeast of Burlington, the state's largest city.

From the South: Take Interstate 89 north to exit 8 (Montpelier/Route 2). Exiting the off-ramp puts you on Route 2 East. Travel through Montpelier and East Montpelier (approximately seven miles). In East Montpelier, the road forks by a flashing light. Stay on Rt. 2 East and take the right-hand fork. Continue following Rt. 2 East another three miles towards Plainfield. Just before entering Plainfield, turn left onto Route 214. The entrance to Goddard is your first left.

From the East: Route 2 can be followed West from as far as Bangor, Maine. This is a rural two lane highway and travel time will be slower. Soon after entering Vermont, Route 2 will pass through St. Johnsbury (approx. 30 miles from the New Hampshire border) and Marshfield (approx. 18 more miles). Follow Route 2 another 7 miles through Plainfield. Pass the Plainfield General Store (The Red Store) on your right. After that turn right on Route 214 North. The Goddard entrance is the first driveway on the left.

There are a number of ways to travel to the Goddard campus in Plainfield, Vermont. Driving is one of the most convenient methods, as it gives you more flexibility over your travel schedule. However, driving is not an always option for everyone attending a residency. We encourage those attending to carpool. For those not driving, you can travel to Vermont via train, bus, or air.
