Support and ServicesTechnology SupportThe Information Technology team provides a number of services to students and faculty at the residency. For new students, we offer an introduction to Goddard's IT systems and services. For all students, we conduct a FirstClass workshop, which goes beyond the basics of sending email and posting messages. We also provide instruction in and support for the Student Information System, FirstClass, and general computer use. We can help get you online with your laptop and set your laptop to print to our printers during residencies. Information Technology staff continue to provide support and assistance to students and faculty throughout the semester. Contact Technology Support at Goddard College.
Library Services The Eliot D. Pratt Library’s collections and services have been developed to serve the needs of the students and faculty at Goddard. Building effective collections and providing research support for distance as well as on-campus learners is our priority. As a core service we offer online full-text access to scholarly academic publications. Technology has made remote electronic access a viable method of making our library resources available. The most important direction in collection development has come from our students and faculty. The library area of FirstClass is the starting point for students doing research. It provides access to our online catalog with bibliographic records for 42000 titles in our in-house print collection The library’s resources include 40 research databases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographies, and more.
The library provides user education and support. While on campus, students are invited to attend workshops to learn about our resources and how to access them. The library staff serves students with individual instructions and research assistance. Distance support is provided via email or phone consultation. Students take advantage of our long loan period that allows them to borrow items from our in-house collection for one semester. Print material is mailed to students upon request during the semester.
