  The Goddard College Art Gallery at 54 Main, Montpelier, hosts 350.org Vermont's Climate Change Art Exhibit: "Unraveling & Turning," from May 30-June 15, 2013. Join us for an art opening reception on the evening of May 30, from 5-7 pm with a cash bar and music to meet the artists and curators.

Goddard College Education Program Info Session in Seattle

Come learn more about Goddard's Dual Language Education program offered in Seattle, Washington. Are you ready to earn your BA or MA degree in Education? Goddard's Education Program in Seattle is a unique program of bilingual education. The residency starts with a Salsa dance with live drumming and music, and the duration of the residency is conducted half in Spanish, and half in English. A focus area of study includes a Dual Language Focus in Early Childhood Education.

Goddard Info Session in Philadelphia

  Come meet alumni, current students & faculty from Goddard College and learn about Goddard's low-residency programs offered in Vermont, Port Townsend, and Seattle, Washington. The info session is from 2-3 pm, followed by a "work share" by Goddard alumni, students, and faculty from 3-4:00 pm. Bread and Puppet's "Birdcatcher in Hell"

"The Birdcatcher in Hell" was created in the spring of 1971, when Bread & Puppet was Theater-in-Residence at Goddard College. Inspired by the fresh green of the Cate Farm meadows, Peter Schumann, Bread & Puppet's founder & director, was moved to make a show all in red, sculpting and painting over a dozen masks, including a huge, intricately decorated "King of Hell."

Great Small Works Traveling Toy Theater Festival

Immediately following the company’s 10th International Toy Theater Festival in Brooklyn, New York, Great Small Works and friends will present an evening of paper theater shows at the Haybarn Theatre. Suitable for audiences of all ages. Tickets $15 at the door.  The program includes a separate show from each company: Facto Teatro from Mexico City, Barbara Steinitz and Björn Kollin from Berlin, and Great Small Works from New York City. Damien Echols Reading

Damien Echols will read from his bestselling memoir, Life After Death (Blue Rider Press, Sept. 2012), with a Q&A, reception and book signing to follow. Free and open to the public as part of Goddard's MFA in Creative Writing Program's Visiting Writers Series. Convicted of murder, Echols spent nearly 18 years on death row before his release in 2011. His story is featured in the documentary films Paradise Lost and West of Memphis.

A native born Vermonter, Bob Stannard has been playin' and singin' the Blues since 1969. He has performed with some of the world's best players at some of the finest venues in the world. He has played with BB King at BB's club in NYC, Foxwoods Casino and the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. For that show they were joined by legendary keyboardist, Joe Sample.

Cornelius Eady Poetry Reading & Goddard Mini LitFest

Cornelius Eady is author of many books of poetry, including Victims of the Latest Dance Craze, winner of the Lamont Prize of the Academy of American Poets, The Gathering of My Name, nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and Brutal Imagination. He is co-founder of Cave Canem, a national organization for African American poetry and poets. This event is free and open to the public and is part of a mini literary festival at Goddard College to celebrate the College's 150th Anniversary!
