Port Townsend Site Services
Students and faculty attend two eight-day
residencies a year on Goddard's Port Townsend Residency Site, located at the Fort Worden State Park Conference
Center, a national historic landmark located in the seaport
town of Port Townsend, WA. Fort Worden is also home to Centrum, a not-for-profit center for creative
arts, and the internationally recognized poetry publishing
house Copper Canyon Press.
Fort Worden was built at the turn of the 20th century as a military
complex, and dedicated as a state park in the early 1970s.
Goddard's residency facilities are primarily located in several restored military buildings located around an extensive parade ground. Roads and well-lighted sidewalks connect each part of the campus. There is ample parking available, as well as laundry facilities on-site.
Classroom and Office Space are located in a variety of renovated historic buildings across the fort grounds. Gathering Spaces are available in some student housing buildings, and the Commons, which includes a Cafe and lounge. Outside, there are numerous places to gather or find time to relax and reflect , including the beach and the parade ground.
