Students and Alumni

Maria Chaudhuri's (MFAW ’09) memoir, Beloved Strangers, which she started working on at Goddard, is due to be published by Bloomsbury UK in early 2014.

Ron Heacock’s (MFAW ’13) story, “Inarguably Dead” is going to be published in the journal, Cease, Cows.

Sarah Kishpaugh’s (MFAW ’14) essay, “Remembering Who You Are” appears on brainline.org, a service of WETA Public Broadcasting in D.C.

Faculty

Kenny Fries’ poems are discussed in "Lyric Bodies:  Poets on Disability and Masculinity," by Professor Susannah B. Mintz of Skidmore College, in PMLA, the journal of the Modern Language Association of America.

Beatrix Gates' (pictured above) chapbook, Dos, has been accepted for publication by Finishing Line Press in Kentucky.  She was also on WERU on Max Langstaff's OFF THE CHARTS (89.9, Orland, Maine) on 7/1/13 where she read poems in a bilingual format, English/ Spanish, w. Electa Arenal from The Poems of Vikram Babu by Jesus Aguado, (translated by Arenal/ Gates).   Gates and Arenal talked about translation, and Gates talked about voice and persona poems with selections from her poetry.

Michael Klein will be reading in Bryant Park in New York City on July 9th at 7:00pm along with Angelo Nicolopoulos, Susan Wheeler and Saeed Jones.  On July 26th, he will be reading as part of the New York City Poetry Festival with Alina Gregorian and Farrah Field on Governor’s Island.

Rachel Pollack’s novella The Queen of Eyes, will be published in the next issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction. 

Rahna Reiko Rizzuto appeared on ABC's 20/20, in a segment about non-custodial mothers.

Paul Selig’s episode "Trapped in His Body" was rebroadcast on the BIO channel's The Unexplained on Saturday, June 8th.  His new book, The Book of Knowing and Worth (Tarcher/Penguin) is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Jane Wohl “Meditations: May 2003” from her book, Triage (photo above), were nominated for a Pushcart prize.
