Goddard College's low-residency BFA Program in Creative Writing offers students three-four intense semesters of creative work and study leading to MFA Programs, or graduate school in education, psychology, or museum studies, to name a few of the opportunities our students have engaged.

Novelist, filmmaker, and Zen Buddhist priest Ruth Ozeki will read selections from her work. Free and open to the public. Presented by the MFA in Creative Writing Program's Visiting Writers Series. About Ruth Ozeki Her first two novels, My Year of Meats (1998) and All Over Creation (2003), have been translated into 11 languages and published in 14 countries. Her most recent work, A Tale for the Time-Being (2013), was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and will be published in over thirty countries.
Poet and Goddard College alumnus Charlie Bondhus (MFAW '05) reads from his work. Free and open to the public. Presented by the MFA in Creative Writing Program's Alumni Reader Series.
The Neel Murgai Ensemble performs raga chamber-jazz, combining Neel's sitar with violin, cello and tabla. Neel's original compositions and rearrangements of traditional material are brought to life in their dynamic group improvisations. Tickets: $15 advanced online | $20 day-of at the door.

Dr. Hawley has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education, focusing on Early Intervention/Special Education, Family Support Services, and Head Start/Early Head Start Federal programming for over 15 years.
Winner of the Poets Out Loud Prize at Fordham University Press, former BFA faculty member Sara Michas-Martin will read from her first book of poems, Gray Matter.
